Brindavanam Movie Review

ntr
Movie : Brindavanam
Director: Vamsi Paidipalle
Music : Taman
Cast : Jr NTR, Samantha, Kajal, Prakash Raj, Srihari, Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav and others

Story :

Srihari and Prakash Raj are step brothers (rivals) and Kota Srinivasa Rao is their father. Indu (Samantha) is Prakash Raj's nephew while Bhoomi (Kajal Agarwal) Srihari's nephew. Cutting back to the city, Krishna (Jr NTR) is a dynamic chap from a rich family and is in love with Indu. When Prakash Raj tried to arrange Bhoomi marriage with Ajay, she says that she's in love in another one. Bhoomi then approaches Indu and requests Krish act like his boyfriend and Indu convinces NTR to act like Bhoomi's boyfriend. And when NTR goes to the village to set things right, he discovers that Indu and Bhoomi come from same family. The movie encapsulates how Krish unites Srihari and Prakash Raj and with whom he enters wedlock.

Going by the posters, we thought NTR would bring in the magic with a touch of class in Brindavanam. But the movie turns out to be just another masala mix.

The major plus point is that Brindavanam has been shot well. The comedy is hilarious, though parts of it are outdated.

The plot? Krishna alias Krish (NTR) is the son of a millionaire (Mukesh Rishi) in Hyderabad.

His girlfriend Indu (Samantha) has a friend Bhumi (Kajal). The twist is that Bhumi's dad (Prakash Raj) wants to get her married to her cousin (Ajay) - a match Bhumi is against. She bluffs and tells her family that she has already fallen in love with a guy.

Indu helps her by letting her "rent" Krish as her fiance, just so that she can escape marriage for the time being.

Krish goes to Bhumi's village as her "fake" lover and successfully solves the rivalry between the girl's dad and his brother (Srihari). Impressed with Krish, Bhumi's dad accepts him and declares him his future son-in-law.

Now, Indu has no other go but to get back her lover. What happens next? That forms the crux of the family drama.

Though NTR plays a role that doesn't suit his image, he does it with elan. His dialogues are simply superb. For the first time, NTR tried to play a lover boy - Whether the audience will accept that remains to be seen. Kajal's role is dull from the start to finish, while Samantha too cannot enliven the mood. They just play glam dolls without soul. Prakash Raj and Srihari do routine roles.

The story is far removed from originality. For instance, there is a touch of Allu Arjun's Happy in Brindavanam. It also has shades of Ram's Maska, Chiranjeevi-starrer Bavagaru Bagunnara, Balakrishna's Nari Nari Naduma Murari, Ready and Bindas.

Director Vamsy Paidipalle seems to have only one thing in mind – to a give a commercial hit. Screenplay is fast in second half, compared to the first half. The plus point of the movie is the entertaining second half. But, if you are a serious movie-goer, stay away from Brindavan.

The comedy is the lifeline of the movie with hilarious scenes from Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav and NTR. The songs are not impressive and a couple of numbers have average appeal. Music by Taman is just average. Cinematography is a big plus point to the film. Editing is crisp.

NTR's ‘Brindaavanam’ Releasing

Brindavanam-MovieThe last of the three biggies for the festival season of Dussehra is gearing up for release. We are talking about the film ‘Brindaavanam’ and it is hitting the screens today. This has young tiger NTR junior in the lead while he is flanked by the saucy seductress Kajal Agarwal and the Kundhanapu Bomma Samantha.

The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of ‘Munna’ fame while Dil Raju is the producer. This also has Srihari and Prakashraj in key roles. Music is by Thaman and the audio has got a reasonable response. This is slated to be a family entertainer and will appeal to the family crowds.

The film is crucial to NTR, Vamshi, Dil Raju in a big way since it has been quite a while since they came up with significant hits. So far, the teasers have given a positive feel and since ‘Khaleja’ impact is also not there, let us hope the film scores at the box office and makes everyone

‘Brindavanam’ Fate Leaks In Few Hours

The time has come for yet another biggie to take the litmus test. But then, it is not just on the film to score at the box office. There are few external permutations and combinations this time. We are talking about ‘Brindavanam’, the challenging venture for producer Dil Raju and director Vamshi Paidipally.

The cine market pundits say that if ‘Khaleja’ arriving before ‘Brindavanam’ scores a hit then the chances of ‘Brindavanam’ getting affected seem high. And if by any chance, the film, Brindavanam, turns out to be weak then it is confirmed that the film will sink without a trace. All that will be realized in just a few hours.

On the flip side, ‘Brindavanam’ has not been able to score in the songs department as expected. So, a lot rests on the film now to make up for it. There is enough ammunition in the form of NTR jr, Kajal Agarwal, Sri Hari, Samantha etc but let us hope the film has enough content to make full use of this ammunition. For now, the fate of the film would be known in just a few hours.
