The movie D for Dopidi turned into a tragedy for the team before its release and to the audience after release. In fact it was a good thing that the movie ended in One hour 40 mins. The making of D for Dopidi says two things that the team neither thought on length of neither the movie nor the story. These two made the movie a failure attempt.It is a story about 4 friends (Varun Sandesh, Sandeep Kishan, Rakesh, Naveen), who suffer financial crisis. Money is the only reason for their problems. In thirst to earn money they plot a bank robbery. Tanikella Bharani is the bank manager and Deva Katta is the police.

For a small story as such, screenplay should be strong with twists in the movie and comedy. Based on this belief producers may have accepted to make the movie. Director Siraj Kalla tried justifying this concept. The movie starts with the voice over of Nani introducing the characters in the movie. After the introduction the story should speed up but which did not happen.The story begins after a few rounds of comedy just before the interval. The remaining story is how they will come out after entering into the bank. Second half is made in a single location in the bank.

Completing a movie in a same single location is a bit new for Telugu people. Many movies in Hollywood are made in a single location. Can Telugu people enjoy a film made in single location still remains a doubt?Flavors of fun and thrill were not added sufficiently which turned into a major drawback for the movie. The story will not move fast and moves within a limited circumference. Second half is completely boring. The story will neither move forward nor end. 

Sandeep Kishan and Varun Sandesh played their roles with ease. No role in this movie gets a scope to unveil their talent. Except Bharani no other will be registered in the audience brain. Heroine is just for the name sake and has nothing to do. No songs in the movie except two bit songs in the end. Good cinematography. Cinematographer proved himself in showing the single location in various angles.Such type of movies can be made within in a low budget. But should take care about introducing a new concept in the story line. Being an old concept and nothing new added to the movie turned to be a failure attempt.
